Great concert the other night and your christmas play was good .

Newlyn school is well cool

I love Newlyn school because we do a lot of sport and i love sport.
The school band is good and it is fun, the music teacher is brillient.
I play the cornet, the fife and the recorder.

Just wanted to remind everyone to look out for our superb new minibuses on the roads of West Cornwall. They are Brilliant! Hopefully I will be one of the lucky drivers from next month!

Well, what can I say...many thanks to the lovely comments from ex and current pupils! Hopefully we will be able to read some excellent results when they come out around July 6th! In the meantime, many things going on: Parliament work, sports events, Mazey Day preparations, visit to Flambards, visit to Flashpoint Life Skills Centre, School camp , etc. etc. And half term soon approaching!! The best decision I made was choosing Newlyn School for Zak. He has come on so well and loves everything about school. He even wants to come in the hols. A brilliant school with enthusiastic teachers and a happy atmosphere, keep it up.

i heard about the pantomime. it sounded really good cause class 6 is (when i was there)mrs yates old class, right?
anyway talking about mountainclimbing i have just been on a week walking up mountains and through the bush . i was walking about 5 to6 hours a day. phew it was so difficult. but i got to the end. it was the able tasman (go on there web site but remember it'll be a nz site ) it was so beautiful any way got to go seeeee you soon

Hi Maya, so glad you are still able to keep in touch with everyone. Life goes on in the same frantic way here at Newlyn, everyone so busy. How is the lovely land of New Zealand? My brother visited it last year to do some mountain climbing, and loved it. Try and send us a picture of yourself as an attachment if you can! Keep in touch!

Just a quick word to say a big WELL DONE to year 6 for a brilliant pantomime last week in aid of Comic Relief. Some really hilarious acting, and all organised by the children themselves. Excellent, you are all stars, and have proved how talented you are.

I hope you all had a great Christmas. Its very different here its a bit hot, and Santa came on the back of the mine Fire Engine.
I am leaving Indonesia next week, just as you all go back to school, and we are going to go to Brisbane for a while. I will be going to a school there called Sherwood State Primary. It will be strange as I dont know anybody. But they even have their own swimming pool.
We are planning to come back to newlyn , I hope very soon, to see you all.
Now we are on holidays for 6 weeks as this school is like Australia and they have their long holiday in December and January.
I miss everyone In England.

Hello to all at Tolcarne. I am a blast from the past. I attended Tolcarne School as it was from 1936 - 1945 a really old pupil. I have great memories of my time there form the infants class where Miss Humphries was in charge, through to Headmaster Leslie White (Snowball). I remember the little blue spelling book that we took home every night and had to learn 10 words to be tested on next morning. I have so many good memories but no bad ones. I wonder how many of my contempories are still living in Newlyn. I live in Padstow now but still remember my old school with great affection

Hi Mr Steele and staff hows things? I'm having a brill time over in n.z. I'll be starting school in Feb. I'll be going to Stina. I went there as a visiter before the holidays for a few weeks, and became an aufichle student. I had an amazing time in Malasia. I didn't get bit once by a mosy. Barcelona was pretty cool to all the shops and concerts. but the Gaudi and Picasso stuff was the best. N.z is also amazing the southen alps are beautiful, were going to go camping up there soon. when we were flying over them in the plane, all the snow on them was shimmering in the sun, and we could just see the tops over the clouds. when we were flying over Aukland we saw the 90 mile beach. any way keep in touch.

I used to go to Newlyn school, im in year 11 now and live in Devon, its the best school around, i really enjoyed my time there and so did everyone else i know. I still miss it!

Just to congratulate Newlyn Stepping Stones and their Mums. The story sacks they made on their recent course with me were amazing. They themselves, were the most talented and enthusiastic group I have worked with, in the three years of running these courses. So thankyou and well done. My children went to Newlyn School up until July this year. There was great sadness on the last day of school as Charlotte and Adam had to change schools in Sept. We still think about Newlyn School and wish them every success in the future. I was born in Penzance 61 years ago. We lived in a bungalow above Newlyn Harbour on Balgy Hill (spelling). My father owned the Cinema - The Gaiety, across the little stream where eels used to swim, and hydrangeas grew in profusion.

I love being at newlyn it is much better than france.

Sports day was just great . My favourite part was when me and my brother did the longest long jump.

At mazey day me and bille held a picture. I liked the parade. Thank you Mrs Cape for helping us.

At Mazey Day it was fun. I liked the serpent best. Mrs Cape helped us to paint it.

This is a cool school. It is really fun here. I really like writing and drawing and gluing and sticking. I like everything that we do at school. I love the computer suite.

I like literacy and topic work. When I came here this year I was happy because the teachers were nice and the children were nice as well. I have some special friends here.

It was fun at Sports Day because of the races and you had to run in very single race. My team Ireland got second place. My team leader was Chloe and she was really nice.

I liked sportsday very much. I like the baton race best. My brother was my team leader and he was bossy.

We like newlyn school because of everything its just brill.

Just wanted to say a big THANKYOU to the seemingly endless stream of children (AND Mrs Leah!) who queued up in the cold wind to throw sponges at me. Many thanks to Daniel out of year R for getting three out of three on target. OUCH! I have worked out that at 3 sponges for a £, I had 318 thrown at me!!! My face will never be the same again!
Well done Newlyn pupils for raising another £106 to go to a great cause.
